Cultural Center

The goal of the cultural center is to encourage and strengthen community bonds with African youth, especially those who want to learn more about Eritrean and Ethiopian culture. Inspired by other cultural centers like the Jewish, Chinese, and Korean schools, we wanted to focus on the element of cultural education. African history is deep, complex, and rich. Eritrean and Ethiopian history, traditions, and culture go as deep as ancient kingdoms, religious influences, and hundreds of years of customs. At the Children of Africa Cultural Center, our aim is to teach this to the next generation so all historical identity doesn’t get lost and the youth grow up having pride in where they come from.

 

This is not limited to just East Africa. We want to teach all African history. With enough interest, we can hire a local native speaker to teach other African languages and cultures according to the demands of the families.
